Chapter 1 General Terms and Conditions

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these terms and conditions is to set forth the rights, obligations and responsibilities between the Joongwon Linguistic Society of Korea (henceforth, JWL) and the member using the System developed and provided by the JWL.

Article 2 (Effect and Modification of terms and conditions)
① These terms and conditions will become effective once a member joins the JWL as a member, thereby requesting the use of this system, and agrees to comply with the terms of these terms and conditions.

② The Steering Committee of the JWL, if deemed necessary by the content of when the membership agreement and amendment (change, delete or add), and the first ① Sections amended rules will take effect in the same way.
 
Article 3 (Other Governing Laws)

Matters not provided for in the Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the JWL and its relevant law practices.

Article 4 (Maintenance of Membership)
The JWL may take any or all of the following measures against members who have violated the Terms and Conditions, applicable laws and regulations or general commercial practices:

Withdrawal of all or part of the benefits given by the JWL;
● Restriction on use of certain services;
● Claim for damages

Article 5 (Obligations of Members)
① For Members set forth in this rule and must comply with the known.
② A member shall not act like person (or people) in the following.
  1. Without justifiable reason, is defamatory of others to violate the rights
  2. Activities undermine public order or morality.
 
 
Chapter 2 Contract Formation

Article 6 (Formation of the Contract)
 a. The contract is established by your agreement with the terms of use.
 b. If you want to become a member, you need to provide relevant information of yours, and the JWL will approve upon its regulations.
 
Article 7 (Termination of the Contract & Service Rstrictions)
 The JWL can stop or terminate the contract in whole or in part without prior notice if your case is one of these rules.
  (1) If you use someone else’s ID
  (2) If you transfer a large amount of data to interfere with stable operation of the service
  (3) If you send an email to advertise
  (4) If you spread computer virus or spam
  (5) If you are on the blacklist of Korea Internet Safety Commission
  (6) If you do an illegal election campaign
  (7) If you commercially use the information obtained through the service without the consent of the JWL
  (8) If the JWL decides that it is not right
 
The JWL will send the member an e-mail with detailed information if some services need to be restricted.

Article 8 (Change of Personal Information)

In the event of change in any matter stated at the time of application, members must immediately update his or her information, except for the name, I.D. and resident registration I.D. number, which may not be changed.

Chapter 2 Duties

Article 9 (Duties of the JWL)
The JWL is committed to maintaining the facilities to be suitable for the service to provide consistent and reliable service.

Article 10 (Duties of the Member)
 ① Under no circumstances shall the Member
1. Cause false information to be submitted upon application or amendment;
2. Illegally use someone else's information;
3. Amend information posted by the JWL;
4. Infringe upon copyrights and/or intellectual property rights borne by any third person; The Member shall abide by, without limitation, the governing Acts, provisions set forth herein, matters notified as part of user instruction and in relation with the Service and matters otherwise notified by the JWL.

Article 11 (Personal Information Protection Policy)
 
① The JWL shall make efforts to protect personal information of members as prescribed by the related laws. As to protection and use of personal information, the Personal Information Protection Policy of the related laws and The JWL shall be applied. However, the Personal Information Protection Policy of The JWL does not apply to the linked sites other than the official site of The JWL. Also, every member has to thoroughly manage his/her password and so on lest it should be exposed to others, and The JWL shall not take any responsibility for the information exposed to others due to a reason attributable to the member.


② The purpose of collection by collected information is as follows:

 - Name, ID, password, mobile phone number, and question and answer for identification: Personal identification for settlement of civil complains related to use of the Service, identification of the actual user, and provision of age-limited services
 - E-mail address and telephone number: Notification, securement of communication route for confirmation of user's intention, settlement of complaints, etc., and guidance of the latest information such as new services, new products or events
 - Address and telephone number: Securement of accurate destination when sending a bill or shipping an article
 - Address: For demographic analysis
 - Mobile phone number: Securement of information in preparation for checking of the previous admission record or actual user, and loss of the log-in information
 - Other selective items: Data required for provision of the services tailored to individuals
 - IP Address, and visit dates: Prevention of illegal use by faulty members and unauthorized use
 - Telephone number (telephone, and mobile phone), the existing ID, and password: Checking of intention to join, and limitation on admission and the number of admissions


③ The JWL shall not use it out of the limit without obtaining prior consents of users and shall not disclose personal information of users to outside in principle. However, the followings shall be exceptions:

 - When the users have agreed on the disclosure in advance;
 - When it is needed for settlement of the Service charge;
 - When it is presumed to be required by the law in good faith (ex.: if it is requested by a government/investigation agency in due course pursuant to the related law);

④ The JWL shall arrange a procedure for the user to click either the 「Agree」 button or the 「Cancel」 button in relation to the content of the Personal Information Protection Policy or the Terms of Use of The JWL, and the user shall be considered having agreed on collection of personal information if the 「Agree」 button is clicked.

⑤ A user can inquire about or correct his/her own personal information registered in The JWL or request for cancellation of the membership at all times.

⑥ The JWL is making its best efforts to prevent personal information of users from flowing out or being damaged by hacking or a computer virus. However, The JWL shall take no responsibility for the problems caused by outflow of personal information such as ID, password, resident registration number, etc. resulting from carelessness of the user or a problem on the Internet.

⑦  Personal information shall be destroyed as follows in principle when the purpose the personal information is collected or provided is achieved. And, if the information is required to be preserved pursuant to the provisions of the related laws such as the Act on the Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transactions, etc., The JWL shall keep the member information for a specific period of time decided by the related law. In this case, The JWL shall use the preserved information only for the purpose of preservation, and the period of preservation is as follows:

 - Records related to contracts and withdrawal of subscription: 5 years
 - Records related to payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years
 - Records related to consumer complaints or settlements of disputes: 3 years

 

Chapter 4: Provision and Use of the Service

Article 12 (Service Use Hours and Limitation

① The Service shall be provided 24 hours a day 365 days a year in principle unless The JWL has some particular operational or technical difficulty.

② The JWL may classify the members into different grades to allow them to use the service in different conditions in relation to use hours, number of times of use, and service menu.


③ A partly paid service may be provided if necessary.


Article 13 (Provision of Information and  Insertion of Advertisement)

① The JWL may provide members with various information recognized to be required for use of the service by means such as e-mail, letter, mail, SMS, or telephone.

② The JWL may insert advertisements in order to provide such free services, and is able to convey the advertisements and contents adequately in each service and menu. However, The JWL shall not take any responsibility for the loss or damage incurred to the members as a result of being involved in the communication or transaction promoted by the advertiser through an advertisement inserted in the service.


Article 14 (Posts of Members, etc.)

If a post registered in the service by a member causes damage or other problem to the member himself/herself or other persons, the member shall take the responsibility, and The JWL shall not take any responsibility. For the post which falls under one of the following cases, The JWL may take a related action such as temporary discontinuation of posting, modification, deletion, displacement, or refusal to register without prior consent of the member:

 - When the content puts a serious insult or brings disgrace on another member or a third party;
 - When the content infringes the copyright or other right of another user or a third party;
 - When it circulates or links to the content which harms public order or public morals;
 - When the content encourages illegal reproduction or hacking;
 - When the content is objectively acknowledged to be associated with a crime;
 - When it does not conform to the principles of posts specified by The JWL or to the nature of the bulletin; or
 - When it is presumed to be in violation of the related law.

Article 15 (Revision of the Service)

 The content of the service may be revised and The JWL should notify the members.

 
Supplementary Provision

This Terms shall be applied from Jan. 1, 2015.
